About Us

A message from the Managing Director

If you’re perusing what we have to offer, you’re obviously looking for a solution for either irrigation or turf management issues. We know there’s a lot to think about, with many variables, and you’ll have  questions that need answering.

You are in good hands! And the combined hands of my workforce have, for nearly 40 years, designed, installed and maintained all types of irrigation systems, adjusted sportsfield soils to better grow the turf, and created landscape idylls.

In short – these hands have ‘got dirty’ and, in the process, we’ve learned a great deal about what it takes to create the best turf and landscape environments.

Whilst we’d very much like to be able to meet with you personally, to inspect your site and discuss your unique requirements – you may wish, firstly, to check out what we do and how we do it.

So – welcome to Greene Eden – allow us to help you grow paradise!

I hope we’ll see you soon

OUR HISTORY

Whilst we’re sure that you do not want to spend your valuable time reading all about our history, we do believe that it’s important for you to feel confident that we can, and will, deliver what you need. This is especially important during times when other companies do not necessarily have YOUR interests at heart.

Greene Eden Watering Systems Pty Ltd became established during the early 1980’s and since then we’ve invested a great deal of time researching and developing systems and methods. A steep, but necessary, learning curve then opened new opportunities in the commercial market – sportsfields / ovals, reserves, median strips etc. We’ve established quality standards by using top quality products, installed with a high attention to detail – and to Industry Best Practice. A standard which is expected but rarely delivered. And …… importantly ….. we’ll be there for you after the work is done when you need the system tweaking, advice, help, or just someone to talk to!!

All businesses should read the signs, and adapt to change. Greene Eden’s first major change was the adoption of sub-surface drip as an alternative to traditional pop-up irrigation in turf. This methodology was, and is, not for the feint-hearted – it required investment in new machinery, and an adherence to ‘attention to detail’, required to ensure a positive outcome from the project. That was over 25 years, and some 300 hectares of successfully installed turf, ago.

Value-adding to sub-surface drip irrigation systems (most especially when the IPOS Code of Practice was introduced by SA Water, and users had to adhere to strict watering regimes) saw the evolution of Greene Eden’s TIMPACK (Total Irrigation Management Package). Irrigation scheduling is managed to IPOS through computer hook-up from our depot to over 35 sites as far afield as Port Augusta, Whyalla, Ceduna. and Amata in the APY lands.

The interesting fact, however, is that whatever irrigation system is installed, the outcomes for the turf can be heightened with soil analysis followed by turf management program involving aerovation / vertidraining, and fertilising. Whilst this is a well-known fact, all too often toxic chemicals are used in an effort to ‘fertilise’ the soil. The toxicity accumulates often resulting in an inert soil that has lost its ability to grow anything!
